PUGLIA

Why Puglia

In the extreme South of Italy, right on the heel of the “Boot”, there is Apulia: a land of thousands of facets, a place which you wouldn’t expect to exist, able to amaze you at every moment.

Before learning of its existence, I had visited a lot of splendid places in Italy. Especially Sardinia, Sicily and Tuscany were the preferred locations for my journeys… before meeting an Apulian boy, my future husband, who made me discover and immediately fall in love with this region which is as unique as its inhabitants… and so Apulia, with all its beauties and its warmth, has conquered my heart.

Apulia, a small pearl remote from the mass tourism destinations, has thousands of beauties. Every corner of this magic land keeps revealing its marvels: pristine white-sand beaches, paradisiac coves, caves carved by the sea and Caribbean water, charming Mediterranean views, panoramic roads immersed in ancient olive groves, vineyards that climb among farmhouses and rolling hills, complemented by a millennial artistic heritage (Locorotondo and Cisternino, for example, have been pronounced the most beautiful villages in Italy).

Apulia is a place where you can breathe the nature, culture and faith (the Russian church of San Nicola, a Basilica which is the symbol of Bari, is visited every year by tens of thousands of Russian Federation citizens), the ideal destination for exigent and sophisticated travellers, that besides its natural beauties, amazes through its cultural and enogastronomic tradition, based on local products and recipes handed down for generations. Everything here seems to have a better flavour: fish, vegetables, up to olive oil and wines (Primitivo di Manduria is a gastronomic excellence which places Apulia in the top 10 destinations preferred by wine lovers).

Apulia, in every respect, is never a banal holiday; it is a special and distinct vacation.

Only here one can stay in old restored farmhouses or in the traditional cone-roofed houses called Trulli, equipped with all modern amenities, and feel transported to an atmosphere of different times. Apulia never ceases to amaze with its many resources: the peace and tranquility of the ancient abodes surrounded by bucolic rural landscapes for those seeking tranquility in an intense and vibrant nightlife and for those seeking fun. The attractions and entertainment for family are also present, such as the Zoosafari di Fasano, the largest wildlife park in Italy that is renowned for the largest number of species in Europe.

In a survey carried out by Condè Nast Traveler US in 2012, among the 20 most beautiful tourist destinations Apulia figures as the only Italian representative, and in the famous ranking “Best Trips” by National Geographic in 2014, it is Apulia that is among the best destinations in the world to visit.

It is not coincidental that Apulia is chosen as a destination by many celebrities, including Justin Timberlake, Michele Placido and the daughter of the Indian steel magnate who, despite living very close to the Maldives, has come up to here to celebrate her marriage!

Several episodes of the soap opera “Beautiful” were shot here.

The goal I have with my team is to make you relive the same emotions that I have experienced, the same adventures and experiences, so that you don’t feel foreign tourists but guests of a big family. In such a way, you will love Apulia, just like I did. I think these are the features that distinguish an unforgettable journey from an average tourist vacation. One cannot truly know a place unless they live it truly and, to do this, you have to immerse yourself in its mood, its vibration and its unique atmosphere. We don’t pretend to be a guide, but we hope to be a reference point to direct you to the right choices without wasting time and unwelcome surprises.

A trip made by following the advice of local people becomes indeed a unique experience, a taste of their life, you feel part of that unique atmosphere and you don’t want to go back anymore… well, it happened to me just like this: Apulia has become my second home.      Anna
